If your situation is urgent, short-term, threatens your study at university, and cannot be alleviated by any of our other services, AUSA administers Hardship Grants of up to $250. If our criteria are met, Hardship Grants can be used for assistance with food, travel, accommodation or medical issues. AUSA & Alpers Dental Grant
The aim of the grant is to provide urgent dental care to University of Auckland students who cannot afford it. AUSA and Alpers offer ten grants per year. The dental grant includes a dental exam, x-rays, hygiene and up to $200 towards dental treatment if required. For details about eligibility and to apply via our application form, visit here.
AUSA & Ubiq Text Book Grants
The AUSA & UBIQ Text Book Grant rewards and assists AUSA members who have shown a significant and ongoing commitment to study and academic work despite facing adverse personal circumstances beyond their control. For more information visit here.
Childcare/after-school care financial support
The aim of the grant is to assist student parents who face financial constraints in relation to childcare so that they may be able to continue and excel at their studies. The scope of the grants includes any childcare related cost but is only payable to organizations (not family/whanau). For more information visit here.
